POSTPONED - THIS EVENT WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR A SUNDAY IN AUGUST - PLEASE CHECK BACK SOON FOR MORE DETAILS
Join us at the James Rose Center for live music, a light continental brunch in the gardens, and an in-depth tour led by Dean Cardasis, the Center’s Director and leading expert on the landscape and architecture of James Rose.
Steve Freides will perform the classical guitar music of Matteo Carcassi, Ferdinando Carulli and Mauro Guilliani (among others) as a juxtaposition with the less-than-classical environment designed by James Rose as we spend the morning touring and re-discovering the spring gardens of the Center during this unique event.
$65/person; Space is limited, advance reservations required.
A bit about Steve Freides::
Although he might not look that old, Steve Freides began playing the guitar in 1963. Growing up studying jazz, he was a classical guitar major in college before going on to a career that includes a bachelor's degree in vocal performance, a doctoral degree in choral conducting, 10 years on the theory faculty at Mannes College of Music in NYC, 35 years leading unaccompanied synagogue choirs, and his current position as organist at Bergen Highlands United Methodist Church in Upper Saddle River, NJ. Steve makes most of his living teaching privately - guitar, piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, trumpet and French Horn - from the home he shares with his wife just a few blocks from the James Rose Center.
